The hormone testosterone is an important factor in sexual health and performance.  If testosterone levels are low, so is libido. We all want to stay youthful for as long as we can.  And, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know one of the things you can do to combat the damaging effects of oxidation is to boost your antioxidant consumption. Optimally, you would do this by eating antioxidant-rich foods. However, research indicates that taking Vitamin E, Vitamin C, or an herbal supplement like ashwagandha slows down the aging process.

In addition, Ayurvedic medicinal plants such as Ashwagandha show promise in the treatment of  Alzheimer’s disease.

Conclusion

Ashwagandha is a powerful herb known for its efficacy in relieving stress. It’s an adaptogen that helps the body adapt to stress and exert a normalizing effect on bodily processes. Men benefit from ashwagandha because it balances cortisol which causes male belly fat, when levels are too high. It also increases testosterone which diminishes with age, but is necessary for libido. And it helps slow the aging process with its anti-oxidant effects.
